When should I start thinking about my wedding flowers?

You should think about seeing your florist approximately 6 to 8 months before your wedding.   This will give you sufficient time to discuss and fine tune your ideas without having to rush.  Wedding florists often get booked well in advance so by getting in early you save the disappointment of not getting the florist you want to do your  flowers.

Once you have decided on your colour scheme and dresses, it's time to chose a florist.

Why do wedding flowers cost more than usual flowers?

Wedding flowers are more expensive then a regular bouquet of flowers as they have to be the best quality, last longer and endure more than your usual bunch of flowers. Remember, you are also paying for the skills and expertise of your floral designer, as wedding flowers are an art form,  it takes time to get them just the way you want.

While some flowers like lilies and roses are generally available all year round, many flowers are seasonal and so may not necessarily be available at the time of your wedding.  Speak to your florist about what flowers are in season around your wedding date or take a look at the Seasonal Flowers section of our website for ideas. 

Do I need to make an appointment?

Yes you do need an appointment.  Just call anytime to arrange a suitable time.

Do I have to pay for a consultation?

Any fabric colour swatches and photographs of design ideas you have.
